Beatrix Portret in Hotel Pulitzer

With the abdication of the Dutch Queen Beatrix in April, Fransastic and the Hotel Pulitzer organized an exhibition dedicated to Queen Beatrix. From the beginning of March to the end of May, a portrait I made of the Queen will hang with the exhibition in the hotel's Art Gallery. With over 20 artists, the portraits are created in a wide variety of styles and mediums.

My family worked with a Dutch newspaper many years ago, and it seemed that my parents had selectively saved many great pictures. They were fascinating to siphon through - the exposures were still scribbled on the back, and typewriter text messily stuck to the bottom.

In the end, I chose an image of a young Beatrix that Showed a charming smile and an easy presence.
